In 1945, 2/3 of the UK didn't vote Labor - or didn't vote

Only one third of the potential electorate actually went out and cast a vote for Atlee's Labor Party.

Remember that when you really all the loose guff about   wartime Britain boldly rejecting the class-bound Tories for  a new egalitarian utopia.

Changes in the public mood, in reality,  are as silent and as slow (and yet as deep) as glacial advances and retreats....
